Careless Whisper vs Meaningless Kiss - Does anybody notice?

Udah pada nonton film Music & Lyrics? Sejak nonton trailernya pertama kali somewhere around mid 2007, inget banget pas lagi sibuk-sibuknya Baby Blues & nursing period yang jungkir balik banget... I instantly knew that I'd love this movie. Hugh Grant gitu loh... apalagi ada Drew Barrymore juga, trus background story-nya tentang music pula... klop!

Ada yang menarik dalam film ini. Idenya sih pasti mau mengingatkan para penontonnya yang mungkin sebagian besar adalah generasi 80-an, jadi dikisahkanlah seorang "mantan" pop star di era 80-an yang sekarang udah mulai out of date, apalagi partner duetnya (whoever that man's name, I didn't care lah ya...) udah off stage. Didn't this idea remind us about WHAM! ??

Anywho, di tengah film adalah Hugh Grant harus nyanyi di "Dufan" gitu lah... acara off air di suatu panggung kecil, yang penontonnya weitje2 generasi 80-an yang masih screaming abis lihat penampilannya Mas Hugh ini, sementara para cowok duduk sambil manyun di pinggir panggung. Lagu yang dibawain judulnya "Meaningless Kiss".
Begitu intro dimulai... jengjengjeeengg.... weee... ini sih "Careless Whisper" nya Wham! in a way, pikirku... especially with the saxophone and the drum beat.

Ooooke.... lanjuttt!

Dedooot..... ternyata oh ternyata, liriknya pun rip off abis dari lagu itu. Mo tau... ? Perhatiin deh...!

Get it? Hahah... jangan salah, aku sama sekali nggak against lagu ini kok, cuma lucu aja, bener-bener terinspirasi dan rasa 80-an nya brasa banget lah... sapa sih yang ga suka lagu Caraless Whispernya Wham! jaman dulu... sampe sekarang juga kalo didenger masih asik kan?
